Cougar activity around Tsuquadra Beach
Km 33- 55 - Cougar activity throughout year around Carmanah/Bonilla
Km 62 - Cougar was recently encountered at Camper Bay Campground
Km 70 Cougar was sighted near Thrasher Cove
Bears: Keep a Bare Campsite to keep bears and people safe. Bear-proof lockers are in place at many campsites – hang your food and garbage properly in all other areas.
Km 32 - Bear around Nitinat Narrows
Km 36 - Sow with cubs in Cheewhat area
Km 42- 45 - Bear at Cribbs/Carmanah Creek (frequent sightings)sow with cubs
Km 54 - Bear sighted in the bog between Walbran and Logan Creek
Km 62- Bear around Camper Bay Campground
Nitnat Triangle Aggressive Bear on portage trail at Hobiton Lake
Carmanah Light Aggressive bear at beach access, West side
Wolves: Keep a clean campsite so wolves do not scavenge food. Report all sightings immediately.
km 33: - A wolf sighted near Nitinat Narrows
Respect all wildlife!
Report any encounters to park staff.
Be cautious of all wild animals as they can be very dangerous.
If you see a cub or kitten that appears to be alone, remember that its mother is never far away.
Never approach wildlife leave the area immediately!
Closed Areas: It is prohibited by the National Parks Act of Canada to enter closed areas.
