"WFP to sell rural properties surrounding Jordan River" - cfax1070, January 28, 2010

Western Forest Products has placed 5,700 acres of property in the Sooke-Jordan River area up for sale.
The company says it is aware of and sensitive to the concerns that have been raised over the past two years about potential development, and it is not promoting the property as having development potential. President Stephen Frasher (pronounced Frasier) says "We are not asking for or encouraging any changes" to existing zoning... "We are simply offering" these individual lots for sale.
There are 61 separate lots, many of them on the waterfront. WFP expects the sales to generate capital to help it pay down debt and invest in new equipment for its forestry operations.
